Founded by MIT alumni, XL Hybrids is a different breed of automotive startup company offering new alternatives for commercial fleets to save money by reducing their fuel bills. At XL Hybrids, we have developed a revolutionary, hybrid-electric powertrain specifically for Class 1 to 3 commercial vehicle applications. We recognize that, in order to adopt alternative vehicle technology at scale, businesses require a sensible payback, without relying on uncertain government incentives. Because of this, our technology is designed from the ground up as a cost-effective solution to help commercial fleets accelerate the process of reducing fuel consumption and harmful emissions, while saving money.
Our mission is to develop technology that reduces fuel consumption while providing a maximum economic benefit for our commercial fleet customers. Another way to think about it is that we have customized our technology to actually deploy at scale because we know that businesses want to reduce their fuel consumption and will buy it once they recognize that it will save them money when compared with competing alternatives as well as over the status quo. Scale is what every alternative technology component supplier and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) drives towards, but most have been reliant upon government incentives to prime the pump. But there is a better way, and XL Hybrids is charting a new path.
