What Is A Hybrid Conversion?

A hybrid conversion is a cutting-edge technology designed to transform your existing vehicle, or a new one, into a hybrid electric vehicle. XL Hybrids system is designed to work on the most popular Class 1-3 fleet vehicles, including cargo/utility/shuttle vans and pickup trucks. In 2012, after pilot trials with select customers, we will launch commercial sales of our conversion system for vans. Our parallel hybrid system can be installed as a retrofit on your existing fleet vehicle through our network of installation partners or installed as an upfit onto a new vehicle before delivery from a dealer.

By adding hybrid powertrains to your fleet, you can cut fuel costs, reduce your exposure to fuel price fluctuations, and reduce emissions. Why wait?

How Our Hybrid Conversion System Works

XL Hybrids adds an electric motor, an advanced lithium ion battery pack, and sophisticated control software to the vehicle – without making significant modifications to the original equipment manufacturer's (OEM) internal combustion engine or transmission.

XLH Hybrid System

XL Hybrids' parallel hybrid system saves fuel through regenerative braking, a process by which the electric motor helps slow the vehicle when drivers brake, charging the battery. The battery then releases the energy to the electric motor, helping propel the vehicle when drivers accelerate.  Our proprietary controls make the electric motor assist smooth and seamless to the driver and passengers.

Who Installs The Hybrid System?

Our technology will be available through a nationwide network of certified installation partners, to be announced in 2012. XL Hybrids is also in discussions with OEM-certified upfitters to install the hybrid system on new vehicles, offered as a new vehicle option through select dealers.
